Milton Public Transit

Milton Transit Facility on Morebel DriveI know there were several people who wanted to go to Saturday’s Milton Transit Open house but couldn’t make it.  So I took some video of the event, see below YouTube links.

They also had a Bus Driving Simulator that they use for training.  I didn’t get a chance to try it but it looked realistic and fun at the same time.

I got to meet Mark on Yates Dr in Ward 7 who was there with his family and I enjoyed talking to him about local issues.

I know my own son would have loved trying to drive the bus simulator.  He probably would have crashed it mostly but he’d have had fun doing it.   He was busy napping though so maybe he’ll get a chance next time.

Spoke to several people at PW Transit.  Milton is their first location here in Ontario for public transit,  previously their main business was out west (BC).  They do have some coach lines running out of Mississauga though and they’re sharing administrative resources between that and Milton to help save costs.   While watching the drivers get their certificates I noticed they seemed to be a fairly friendly bunch.
