Well its Tuesday and we too still do not have our Green Bin thing. Hope to at least get it before garbage day or whatever that day will be called moving forward, green day, save the earth day, hey, how about smelly organic day?
The Regions initiative is commendable, I now get once a week recycling - Yeah!! However, the slop is another matter, having already experimented with the green bin when living in Georgetown. Yuk , just Do IT....... hmm, another politically correct (?) attempt at behavior modification..... change how we shop, how we package, how we eat and what we waste, all for what _____________ My Mattamy kitchen was never designed for garbage management and recycling and I'm not looking forward to handling the smelly slop again, oh well, maybe the garburator is my answer...... good luck to all and enjoy the slop.........

I still don't have a bin yet either. I am wondering how I am going to put out my garbage next week!!!

Maybe I need to call the region and find out what is happening...

Collection for the Green Bins starts April 7th. The Halton Region site says the the bins will be delivered by April 5th so they are still working on getting them out. Here's a link to the Region web site with all the details:

Q. When will I receive the GreenCart and Kitchen catcher?

Distribution will take place over a two week period, from March 24 to April 4, 2008. All households that currently receive curbside waste collection will receive a GreenCart. Kendrew Distribution Services will distribute 128,000 GreenCarts and Kitchen Catchers to urban houses; LK Trucking Services will distribute 8,000 GreenCarts and Kitchen Catchers to rural houses.
