Ah, I watched the entire game for a change tonight (but had to shovel at halftime :x), and they played their hearts out, nothing to be ashamed of. Maybe they could have squeaked out a win if they got more of the free throws in and as I alluded to above, they were able to hit the jump-shots early in the 4th.

Great D too...it's been fun watching them the past month and if they play like that against teams every night, they can surely be above .500.

AMIR!!! Can't believe he miffed on that 5 footer at the end. He probably shoots 90% from there!

Great effort again tonight, pushed the Champs to the end on their home court. Raps getting respect as well it seems, with Dwayne 'I don't play the second of back-to-backs' Wade suiting up tonight.

I've found throughout their winning streak, as long as they are consistently hitting jump-shots, they have a chance to win. If Lowry, Ross and DeMar are shooting bricks, they almost always lose, and the odd baskets in the paint or point guard lay-ups are not enough.

It's been their defence above all else. As long as they keep it up on that end, they'll have a chance every night.

Side note: Vasquez can't possibly be this bad, can he? He's like drunk Calderon running through a puddle of Elmers glue.

shoot 30% in the first and still win by 20? I'll take it! Schedule looks pretty flimsy for the next 7-8 games. They have a chance to do some damage here.

Ujiri Quote from TSN radio today... With his team leading the Atlantic Division thanks to an 11-5 record since the Rudy Gay deal, Masai Ujiri said he's been encouraged by his team's play and will look to continue to support his core talent. Speaking on TSN 1050 Thursday afternoon, the Raptors GM emphasized his commitment to building on the current roster: “I always say, ‘you can't teach winning by losing,' so we're going to keep encouraging these guys as much as we can.” . Right decision in my opinion!

Trade 'Intense Lowry' before he signs a big money extension and morphs back into 'Fat Lowry'.

It's been fun watching the Raps lately. You feel confident they just might win.

For those who follow them very closely, what's the most accepted insight on Lowry that will help the Raps long-term? Should we sign him long-term based on the way he's been tearing it up this year, or is he just pushing hard because it's a contract year, that he might get complacent again once he's signed? Did coaches not choose him on the all-star team because he has a checkered past in terms of difficulty in communicating with? I've really enjoyed watching him fly and it would be a shame to see him go based on the way he's contributing.

I think they've got to try to resign him in the offseason. They're in the tough spot where they're not bad enough to draft a good quality PG but they're also playing too good to sell him off at this point for anything of value.

With regards to his play, I'm sure part of it is due to the contract year, but he has shown in the past in Houston the kind of player he can be putting up big numbers. He seems to enjoy playing in this environemnt as well and is getting more and more familiar with the system. We cleared a ton of cap space by trading Gay and let's face it we're not gonna sign a big free agent fish like Anthony so we should focus on retaining him(and some other players like Patterson).

Raps have really no choice but to try and resign him. No team is going to really give us anything good in return for a 3 month rental player, plus the teams that would want his services now will have crappy draft picks to trade, so we're kind of stuck.

I am terrified of resigning him to a big money contract. Does he have the tools to be an elite PG? Absolutely, we're seeing it now. But is it sustainable once he loses the incentive of impending free agency? Who knows, maybe this is the Lowry we will see for the rest of his career, but I have doubts. Teams don't just trade away talents like this (and its happened to him twice).

Yeah, you've verbalised my thoughts exactly, and even though I can tell Ujiri is a smart guy, I think he has no choice but to re-sign him too. I just wondered if there was another reasonable perspective, but I don't think there is. Problem is, the guy might not agree to a 2-3 year deal if the Raps aren't sure about his drive and only want to test the waters without committing long-term. And I've read that he's had issues with Duane Casey, and since winning can sweep a lot of issues under a rug, maybe teams having traded him were because of his attitude, though people can mature with age. It'll be interesting to see what happens, but if we keep up the pace, we will even get home-court advantage for the playoffs, lol. I've noted the biggest differences this season vs. past losing seasons are better defense combined with greater 3-pt percentage, Amir Johnson nailing jump shots (lol), and JV able to score more under the rim.

BTW, still in love with your Optima? I had a chance to drive an SX Turbo for a week, and it is very nice inside and the car is gorgeous. No torque steer too, which is a sign of good drivetrain engineering. I just found little things odd like the power window switches being too far back on the door panel, bad placement of the front cup holders where if you have a bottle of water, it will get in the way of you reaching the shifter, hard to check blind spot for lane change, and a hollow cheapness feel when you pull the outside door latch to open the door.

I have the Sonata...yep still love it, despite 3 trips to the dealership for warranty work. I almost bought he optima but found the ride too harsh vs the Sonata.

Terrance Ross!! That is all!
