Coyotes often travel in small groups of 2
We have 2 that live in the field behind our house, they cross threw our yard all the time
We rarely see them but, have had a few sightings of them.
(they are around all the time, they leave their prints in the snow)
They have a den in the caves behind our house, but they do keep to themselves for the most part
They are generally not a concern for humans, they will kill small game like squirrels and mice
But it is now spring this means mamma is nesting, and pups will be or already has been born.
Once this happens these little guy will become more aggressive to protect their pups
This maybe why the coyote was out today, they also are most active at dusk and dawn
But I have seen out in all hours of the day
If a child wonders near their den, there is a possibility of danger.
I have seen some children walk unaccompanied to school via walking trails such as the ones behind the school
Someone should check to be sure the MNR has been called
They will trap the coyote and look for his den to be sure there are no pups in it.
If I was a parent at that school I would follow up with this coyote indecent, to be sure it was trapped and removed
If not, consider this an ask.
