Thanks for the update Colin. I was digging my backyard and thought I stepped in dog doo that was ripe but there was none there.

I am familiar with the sludge fertilizing program but this odour was certainly different then that and your explanantion makes sense.

Matt

Living and working around this area for four years.
It was always seasonal, this time of the year and in the spring. The source was obviously from farm lands. Which is normal.
This year it is very strong, perhaps because we moved from Derry-Thompson to Thomson and Hepburn (if the name of street is correct). But it smells terrible and unusual. Not exactly like a human “thing” but nothing close to manure or usual mineral-chemical components they are using in the farm fields. Most of the times it is in the evening. I guess because wind is calming down.
I’m on hwy25 few times per week never smell anything unusual, even for last three weeks. And I’m extremely smell sensitive.

So for me it is most likely linked into something which is in development at whole area. Oakville, Burlington, Milton.
Big pipe to bring water in – big smell to take results of consumption out.
Also as it was mentioned before it might be linked into some smelly business.
It was an issue in Newmarket. The source was from local company doing some organic reuse business.

if you smell manure from the area and you live in coates crossing it coming from the new park there building. Many manure spray trucks have been in dumping actually spraying mixed top soil mixed with manure for the new park, the smell is quite overwhelming with the heat. Before they lay the grass they want proper soil on the area unlike the other parks in the area where the soil and grass are rock hard (any of your kids play soccer on the fields at yates by the school and you'll know what i mean with the area, the grass and ground, being so hard). I have never smelt the dump in this area.
