When we bought our house, Mattamy gave us 'Welcome to Milton' information. In it it stated that no overnight parking is allowed from November to April. Perhaps this is why people are getting tickets?

that's right, everyone got that information...it's amazing how many people thought that they didn't mean it or it didn't apply to them.

It also amazing that to expect people to obey bylaws is now considered being a jerk.

Couldn't agree more.

With snow arriving any day now, it is even more imperative that the roads be free of cars so that plows can get through.

Heres a copy of my magnet I used during the campaign last fall, so I apologize for the "ELECT MIKE" stuff. If I find some extra ones, I'll let you know. There's a number for parking control you can use, although during off business hours, its a voice mail. When and who checks it is another story.

I am north phase 1 and received a ticket a month ago (Late September or early Oct) for parking my car overnight on the road and, in theory, I have no problem with it. I did break the bylaw.

However.....in the past 4 1/2 years I have never rec'd a ticket and have done this many time in the past. So have many, many others. I phoned to ask why....they said...somebody complained....the time the ticket was issued....3AM! - I was not blocking anything and parked on an extra wide road.

So......3 things..

1. Can somebody tell me the number to call at 3AM to gain parking enforcement? I could not find it.

2. Laws are typically only court upheld if they are enforced perpetually and equally across a society. For one person to get a ticket and other cars not to is not equal enforcement. Either enforce the law or not...make a choice.

3. I now make sure the cars are in the driveway.

Even during "business hours", the parking department is pretty useless.
