Our local Best Buy has D90 last week for  price.
And it was including long kit lens, not the short one.
It is getting old now, but still one of the best.

The only reason I would probably go to Sheridan, Mohawks and so on classes is then I would decide try to make some dough on photography. You know – “I have diploma in photography” this is why I’m charging you so high …thing.

The beauty and advantage of digital SLR, not SLR, photography – you don’t have to listen how it works at the class. You could just learn by yourself, no film wasted anymore. Where are some amazing books with pictures to help you with it.
Last week I found one at our library.
http://www.photofidelity.com/blog/digit ... eview.html
I read probably two dozens of this kind of books already. But this one is amazing. Simple, yet tells you about details and basics. And up to date. DSLR thing.
I’ll return it to library next week.

Then get the Nikon D90. It's like my D40 and Deep's D80, but better!

Old enough to be priced well, and new enough to have all the bells & whistles one could need.

Like I said before, you can use my D40 for a while to see if you like Nikon's setup. Some people prefer the way Canon does things, others like Nikon, some like neither.

I still stand behind my opinion that the single most important thing about a camera for amateurs (like myself) is that it is lightweight and relatively compact. Any camera takes pictures, but it only works if you have it with you.

Yes very true, however I do have a sony cybershot if im going out with friends or something...don't trust my drunk ass with a good camera...

However, might take you up on checking out your D40. Might also go to best buy and see what they have to play with as per display models (I know that doesn't really give you much to play with but still..)

And I'll let the bf know this is now on my birthday/Christmas list! haha

Halton Falls conservation area was very busy today.

Your pics are beautiful. I know squat about photography. What program do you use to change the colors or is that straight off your camera?

I definitely did some editing, but I didn't change the colours. I just played with carious settings like saturation (individual colour saturation), curves etc.
I use Adobe Lightroom for mot editing and some photos go to photoshop if I want to do something major.

Thank you, digijay
Very nice, sharp looking pictures and inspiring too. Milton and surroundings at its best!

One picture from yesterday evening. I came from Toronto after work and my wife asked me to go to Halton Falls together with kids. We went to the falls and on the way back it was dark already.

Full moon at Halton Falls and main local attraction at the entrance gate

Here is yours. You have sharing disabled. So, to get the link to the image source, I have to look into the html source page to find it http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4037/512 ... dec7_z.jpg
Then I used “insert image” icon-command in “reply” window. Here is the same from source page on your's flickr.

And one from me (taken at the bank of local storm pond)
