Just saw this on the CBC tonight. There are millions of dollars in unclaimed account money sitting in the Bank of Canada. You can do a search to see if you have money there (I tried to log on but their server was down). You can also e-mail, phone or fax. (If you find money, throw some my way since I pointed you to the money you would never have known about anyway).

At the end of December 2007, approximately 938,000 unclaimed balances, worth some $320 million, were on the Bank's books. Over 86% of these were under $500, representing 19% of the total value outstanding. The oldest balance dates back to 1900.
I am happy for anyone who can get money back from the banks and from the government.
Do NOT trust anyone who calls you claiming to be the bank. Make sure you make the calls and do the research.
