Its funny driving around today and seeing all the garbage and recycle bins out today?

Your pick up date HAS BEEN CHANGED!!!!!!

I guess nobody reads the Champion or any of the literature that was sent to them the last couple of weeks.

THERE IS NO PICK UP ON Wednesday!!!

Coates Crossing and basically everyone south of Derry your pick up date is now MONDAY...this Monday (the 14th)green bin, blue bin and garbage. The next Monday(the 21st) only blue bin and green bin. Garbage is now every other week. I guess that when you saw all the other neighbors with bins out on Monday something must have been odd to you..

So you better take your garbage back inside or it'll rot out there til next week. :?

Oops sorry, I saw this Monday and thought you meant the Monday that just passed as opposed to next Monday (missed the 14th part). Regardless I guess it just takes people awhile to get used to a new date, Milton has had Wednesday pick-up for as long as I can remember.

Actually it was in the Milton Champion everyday for 2 weeks. Also was delivered by the Halton waste Management company a calendar(with pick up dates and changes to schedule) and various articles telling you when it was going to happen. Also was a notice in your green bin when it was delivered to your house. Also was on Cogeco cable 14 community channel. I do not know what else the town could do to inform people without actually going around door to door and telling people, but i'm sure a lot of neighbors also told each other...
If they don't know now they'll know when their garbage is still on their curbs on Saturday.

I'm with Strikerdog on this one - I had a pretty good chuckle when driving home from work today.

There was a calendar and a map included with the documentation when we got our green bins. It was pretty clear that the date had been changed. Also, did these people not notice when the rest of us put out our bins on Monday and they were emptied????

If you haven't received a green bin, you should contact the region and let them know - we don't have ours, and when I called on Monday to ask it turned out we were marked off as delivered, so if I hadn't called we would have been waiting a long time for it to show up! Actually, we're still waiting. They said we'd hopefully get it tomorrow.

Whoever they hired to do the distribution did a lousy job - I know so many people who were marked as delivered but didn't actually receive one.

I did know that pickup was no longer wednesday, but most of my neighbours didn't. And most of those that didn't, have left their garbage out since wednesday. It's blowing all over the place and for some reason, the winds seem to like to sweep crap all over my front lawn more than anyone else's. My blue boxes are now full again - but full of other people's crap that I've been picking up. It's gross. I don't like touching other people's garbage and having to clean up after everyone. How hard is it to bring your recycling boxes in wednesday night and bring them back out on sunday night?
