Hi Mike....too bad it takes place the same day as the School Council meeting in Milton. Would appreciate sharing info (PM me if you'd like) or I could stop by and pick up some information from you about getting one going in HV at/around the Holly/Derry area.

Cheers :)

I went to the meeting last night of the Neighbourhood Watch council in Burlington last night. There were over 30 representatives from zones in Burlington and the surrounding areas in attendance.

Needless to say when I walked in an said I was from Milton they were excited as for some time theyve tried to get a zone set up here in town. There is definite interest in organizing up here, not just in Hawthorne Village but other newer and older parts as well.

Jim Blake said he would do whatever he could to help us get one started, we just need some volunteers. He will be happy to come up and meet with us and our community officer in Milton to get the ball rolling.

Email me mike@mikecluett.ca if your interested in getting involved at the grassroots to start up a neighbourhood watch and if you know of anyone outside HV even better.

They have their council meetings the first Monday of each month at Div 3 of Halton Regional Police station and the invite is open to anyone. I can let you know more details as well.

I dont know if I can make it that day as its a few days after our second baby is to be born :)

Buy the more people who want to get involved the better. Then once its up and running we can try for more people and let it grow from there. I could see by last night that there were a lot of people doing it for some time and once it starts ... more people can and will jump on board to help make our streets a bit safer and more people aware of things going on.
