I am curious to know what is being built on Steeles just before it crosses over the #401 and to the west of Canadian Tire.

TIA.

Hi Tia

This is the Phase 2 of the First Gulf development which includes 7 buildings which should be occupied later this year. There has been previous posts on this subject on the villager and the only confirmed tenant that I know so far is Indigo Books. There is about 180,000 s.f. of new buildings with the main entrance at the stoplights at Esquesing line by the water tower, there should be similar stores as in the existing Crossroads center to the east and there will be a driveway between the two areas when the complex is completed.

Check the First Gulf website for more details as they have not announced a full list of tenants yet.

I believe the big box Indigo store is what is going in there.

I was at the franchise show a few weeks ago - they're thinking of putting in an Extreme Pita here as well.

Based on the website the following stores are also going up: mexx, smart set, ardene, mucho burrito, mr big and tall

They also have another big box store that should go hope, i'm thinking future shop/best buy.

Wish it was a Costco. Costco would be much much better than futureshop/bestbuy imo.

Why? You don't have to pay Future Shop $50/yr for the privilege of walking in and seeing how much they're ripping you off by.

Hmmm BEst Buy over FUture Shop anyday! Although either one would beat out Costco imo.

"Oh look honey we can save $5 if we buy 5000 rolls of toilet paper, quick get two!" lol....

Exactly why I prefer Best Buy, you can go in and wander around take your time and not be harassed every five minutes to buy something. Just find it a better atmosphere to shop in.
