For anyone interested in the future planning for the Boyne Survey or Phase 3 of Milton's growth for the next 40,000 new residents south of Louis St. Laurent to Britannia Road from James Snow Parkway to Tremaine Road including the new proposed Education Village for Laurier University. The Planning Department is making a presentation on Monday July 21st at about 8 pm. in the Town Hall council chambers under Report PD-059-08 which can be read at milton.ca The process will be involving the public through the 12 month period through public meetings, displays. workshops and surveys to co-ordinate the neccessary services and facilities for the next phase of Milton's growth. I hope you can get involved in this process which starts on Monday night as Council, planning staff and I will be looking forward to your comments, ideas and concerns Milton's present and future growth plans. Colin, Hello, would public input be considered such as asking for the development to start in the area of Termaine & Louis St Laurent then work west to east / north to south vs the builders choosing which site gets developed first. My reason is we have lived since day one in HV phase 5 and the cloud of dirt on top of us has been none stop as development went east to west. This has been a frustrating issue on warm/hot days over the years. Open the window for cool air but let a tone of dirt in or turn the ac on and pay a higher electric bill? Your thoughts are most welcomed. |

We are in HV phase one and have been dealing with the dirt for the last 7 years. Part of life in a new subdivision (or anywhere near it). Colin do you know when Mattamy will be starting the services to the new high school site in phase three at Louis st. Laurent and Fourth? It's getting close to start time for construction if we are going to get the school opened for 2010. Thanks |

Hi opie & daycaremom Will be raising these issues at the meeting regarding phasing and construction similar to the Sherwood Survey which is beiung built in three phases. Phase I is almost complete with phase two starting next year with the Vista area and south of the Hospital (check hdsb.ca for Milton school boundary maps to see the extent of the area) I will be checking with Donna Danielli the school board trustee regarding the schedule for the high school construction and post it later on the villager. Hi Colin. At the last Supercouncil meeting with the HDSB in June, it was Steven Parfenuik who that told us Mattamy had agreed to service the high school site earlier than the rest of the area so that we can get construction started on time for the 2010 opening. |

Hi Ehsan & Francesca The Milton Council meeting held on Monday July 21st will be aired on Wednesday nights at 8 pm. for the next three weeks till the next council meeting which will be held on Monday August 18th at 7.30 pm. which will be dealing with the Sustainable Halton options anywhere from +60,000 to +130,000 people for Milton after 2021 on top of the already approved Official plan of 175,000 people and present population of 75,000 people as of June 30th 2008. (check milton.ca and halton.ca home pages for details) The July 21st meeting ran four hours so hopefully with some editing it could be less and also includes the initial budget discussion and the 4th line Day care initial report and delegations.
