Hi Guys Since this is my first home, just wondering if I have to call these individual companies and set up my accounts or if this is something that my lawyer is going to take care off??? Thanks Maggie |

According to the Mattamy University hand out I have, you should contact the utilities at least 1 month prior to closing: Bell Canada: 310-2355 Cogeco Cable: 1-866-427-7451 Milton Hydro (for electricty and water): 905-876-4611 Union Gas: 1-877-969-0999

Hello, Yes, we had to call thsoe companies. Most of the information is already in their systems...they basically just needed our personal information like license number and phone numbers... I was told by the Gas company that for the month of July they are waiving the 200 fee for new homes. I called last week and didn't have to pay it! |

ie. our closing date is in september but if we set up our account now would we have to pay the fee? Not really sure because we called and our closing are both in July. |
