I've been noticing over the past week in my neighborhood in around Hearst, Clark Blvd, Ferguson etc, there has been a lot of spot sidewalk construction going on.

Ripping up one slab and then re-paving it.

Is is this just maintenence, or are they fixing something under the sidewalk like a gas line?

Anyone know?

They have been doing that all the way to fourth line. It looks like they are getting ready for the town to assume that area.
