Just let anyone who is interested in the pedestrian bridge proposal over the CPR line between Livingston Road and Tupper Drive just east of Thompson road.

There will be a community open house this Tuesday August 12th from 6.30 to 8.30 pm. upstairs in the Lions Hall of the Memorial arena at 77 Thompson Road opposite the Super Centre to review the preferred concept developed after the feedback from the first open house held on June 24th.

The proposed bridge which will be fully accessible would link the Milton Leisure Centre, Lions Sports Park, Memorial Arena and Bishop Reding High School with the Clark neighbourhood south of the rail line and the off-leash dog park.

You can see the concept plans and other information at milton.ca

The comments from the meeting will be forwarded on to staff, council and the budget committee for consideration for the 2009 Capital Budget to be held on December 8th and 9th. The majority of funds for the project are planned to be funded from the development charges reserve fund for parks development.

Look forward to seeing anyone interested in the proposal there.

Colin Best
Local & regional councillor
Wards 2 & 4
(which includes the proposed bridge site)
