Are there any barber shops in Milton that are geared toward men? Hopefully offering the straight edge shave and reasonable prices on a hair cut?

I went to a great one in Brampton before moving here, and I'm now long overdue for a cut but don't want to drive all the way to Brampton to get one.

If all else fails Zeeshan, the Brampton one is located in the stripmall at the corner of balmoral and eastbourne.

I haven't been in a long time since I started going to a place by work when I moved to Mississauga, but Mike's Barber Shop on Main Street used to be great. Probably worth checking out.

Where on Main would this 'shop be located?

I tried without success to find one in Milton and couldn't find any to my liking.

I have since started shaving my head, but the place to go -- and it was worth the drive before I went with the bald look -- was Star Salon for Men in Mississauga on North Service Road (I believe it's called Cliff Plaza, but I could be wrong). Don't let the "Salon" part fool you, this is the traditional, old-school barbershop for men. Sal is the man to see.

Probably won't be getting the straight blade shave right off the bat though.

Tony's is a good place ... and I think its only $13 or something like that.

Yeah, I had that dilemma too ... went to the same old Barber in Brampton (ol' Joe) for over 20 years. I think he is about 85 yrs old now .. anyway, started going to Mike's Barber at the west end of downtown Milton (he is Mike Boughton, a Town Councillor), and does a decent job. More likely than not though, is that one of the women will cut your hair, since Mike is away on Town business a lot. Yes, they use a straight razor if you like. Good enough job, but I miss good ol' Joe. Although at 85, he is a gettin' kinda shakey.

You should keep going to your Brampton guy if he does a good job for you. I still go back to my guy in Scarborough. Loyalty is rare these days in life (including marriage), so I always try to be a regular with a good business when it comes to dealing with things as personal as a haircut!

I've also always been intrigued by these old-school barber shops, and remembered there was one near my house when I was growing up with the red, white and blue poles. However, a lot of these guys are probably old-school; would they know how to cut or adapt to modern hairstyles?

My husband and brother went to get a straight-edge shave a few months ago before a function that we were in town for and they couldn't get one anywhere. They tried Tony's and then Mike's, and then asked if anyone in town offered it and were told no. This was in June; perhaps something's changed since then though.

Tony's is fantastic...beautiful fades (this is from a mummy who is particular about her little boy's hair). They are super old school just the way a real barber shop should be.

My little guy was nipped in the neck at Mike's by one of the ladies so we don't go there anymore. I'm sure they do a good job, but I much prefer the cuts at Tonys.

I would be really interested to find out who uses a blade as my husband would love to get a shave for his face and head. He has asked around at many places and no one seems to do them anymore. He used to get it done at the Barber Shop in Erin Mills Town Centre, but even they have stopped.

tony is good, but his son Charlie is better. :p

If you go prepare for at least a 20 min wait.
