Why should this be pulled off the board? If anything, it should've just been moved to the ad section of the board.

In previous posts I've mentioned that the original poster of a thread, at his or her request, can have his or her thread removed. It's rare but it happens that someone starts a thread and then asks for it to be removed because they don't like where it ends up going to.
I've done that about 5 or 6 times that I can remember in the past year.
