Hey all ;

Need some advice. I have a new I-pod nano, and there is no input in my 2008 car for it. I'd like to listen to the unit in my car, but the dealer can't offer any factory solution other than a new car !!

Are any of the aftermarket solutions any good ? Someone had told me that they work on a wireless platform through the car's radio...but you need to find dead air somewhere on the dial ?

Anybody have any tips ?

Pete

I know of 3 solutions, that are prettymuch standard

1. Buy an FM transmitter (fuure shop and other electronic stores have them). The tranmitter will pick up your ipod signal and re transmit through your FM radio in the car.

2. iPod Cassette Adapter. Cassette Adapter easily connects your iPod device, portable MP3, CD, cassette player, PC or laptop to your car stereo, through your car's in-dash cassette player.

3. Buy one of he car stereos that have an IPOD adaptor that comes with it.. And some Car stereos have front panel AUX input thats lets you connect your digital media player

Does the nano have the ipod connection at the buttom or just the headphone jack? I have something similar to this in my car with my ipod touch and the sound is amazing. http://www.usaspec.com/ipod.html You do need the big flat connection at the bottom of your ipod though.

I was just wondering the same thing Heather&Chris. There is the option to purchase the itunes plus which theoretically makes all the music DRM free but I still don't know if that will work because of the whole mp4 instead of mp3 thing. There must be a way to crack an mp4.

I just got my xbox hooked up. I have xp and you need windows media center to connect to the xbox so it was either purchase the media center or upgrade to vista and I really didnt want to get into that headache. Then I heard about this great free program called TVersity and installed it and it works awesome for streaming.

If anyone is looking for a good name in FM transmitter's, Kensington is the best that i've found. Best sound quality.

Andybuck, Are you sure that you can play your itunes purchased music through TVersity? I can't get it to work at all. I can't even see the music.

BTW, you were only faster because my kids have gotten maple syrup all over my keyboard and I can't press one key without pressing a minimum of 3 others at the same time. Does anyone know if pouring boiling water over a keyboard kills it? :wink:
