Post subject:  Why was there a cop @ Hawthorne Village School ??

Yesterday morning I dropped my 3 girls off at school. I usually drop them off on Winter - behind the school - but since I was going to my youngest daughter's grade 5 french play - I decided to drop them right off at the school. I dropped them on the south side parking lot - and since there was no parking there for me I went over to the north parking lot. I did the loop - but then was quite surprised to see a Halton officer standing with his notebook alongside the long fence where the kids lock their bikes in the summer.

Does anyone know why he was there ?? Is he there to keep the traffic moving along ?? For all I know there's a cop there every morning - but since I hardly ever drop my kids off at school - this was a bit of a shock to see.

Can someone enlighten me please ?? I asked all 3 of my girls and they didn't know.

Thanks

Jo

yeah - that's what one of my daughters said too. But he was standing there with his notebook open .... almost like he was 'itching' to give a ticket or something .......

They have been asked to patrol the parking lots and ticket vehicles that are parked illegally in no parking zones. Drastic step, but something needs to be done to keep the kids safe.

I meant it may have been. Maybe they were parking control, maybe police can ticket if it's a fire route... I don't know.

It was a cop - the car was parked in the lot ..... and that makes sense about the fire route .......
