gees, I'm just chatty with the posts today aren't I......

My son is in French Immersion, he started here in Grade2 and is now in Grade 5. He goes to EW Foster, (on Coxe Blvd, which is near Laurier/Thompson) and it is a great school. He started in Peel at Vista Heights for kindergarten and grade 1.

I really really like EW Foster, they have EXCELLENT teachers and it is a fantastic little school.

I do know that you cannot start french immersion in the middle of the program, I believe you can only start either in Kindergarten or grade 6...but I would check into that...if you have any questions, feel free to ask me here or pm me.

There is one is Georgetown. Somewhere at the Trafalgar and 10th concession above the 401. In english the school is called Sacred Heart...but don't quote me on that...something may have gotten lost in translation.

There will be a French school in Milton.

There are two options for Milton that I know.

1. Assume a school that they only need to relocate the people in it (may take a year).

2. Build a school, which will take more than that I think.

yup...you're right there is an all french school in Georgetown, friends of mine go there...you have to prove that YOU (parents) are french for your children to go there........

The good thing about full french schools is that your kids can start at 4 years old, full time...Yahoo no day care.

This goes with Public or Catholic boards!!!

Here is something Sandra wrote about the French schools (not FI)

Hi everyone,

I am not sure how the French Immersion programm works.
Because I am originally from "La belle Province" :wink: (20yrs)
my kids have access to the French School board
either catholic (which they are) or public.

Catherine, je ne suis pas certaine si cela comprend l'éducation dans une école d'immersion française.

I really think that it would be a question to ask the French school
board directly regarding parents that have gone to French immersion.
Maybe they have to come up with a new rule?!?

And yes, you have to be catholic and your children have to be baptised
in order to attend a "catholic school".
