So the day has finally arrived. We are closing today, and plan to move in over the next few days. Look forward to meet all fellow winterians and others! So if you do see either one of us, please say hi!

Got a few questions:

Fridge Water Line: For those of you who have installed a water line to your fridge, can you tell me if I need to buy anything special other then the waterline installation kit. I have the kit that pierces into an existing pipe, but I am not sure if its only meant to be used with copper pipes only. Since most of us have PVC piping running in the basement is there anything special that I need to do?

Dishwasher: Does anyone know if the power line for dishwasher is live? or do I need to go into the fuse panel and connect the wire and turn on the breaker? ( I get really nervous opening that box :))

Central Vac I did not purchase the upgrade for mattamy have all central vac tubes end up in the garage. Has anyone relocated them to their garage? Was it very hard?

Overhead Microwave This is the microwave we brought over from our last home. I lost the template that was used determine where the holes need to be drilled for the bolts coming down from the cabinet that hold it in place. Would anyone have it for this one or a similar one?

Good luck with the closing, hope everything goes smoothly...if you need anything over the weekend, drop by.

Fridge Water Line - I would recommend using mortar bit and hammer drill to drill through the tile into the basement. Also, make sure you get the correct water line for your fridge, there are different ones. Our fridge could not use the regular thin plastic line, but needed the reinforced braided line.

Dishwasher - power should not be live (same for a wall over if you are getting one), you will need to connect it into the panel. PM if you need someone to do that for you.

Overhead Microwave - Doesn't GE publish their installation manuals online ? That should include a to-scale copy of the template.

Cheers !

I have a magic chef template for the micro if you want to try that one.

Dishwasher is just a cable run till under your dishwasher location. The breaker is installed, the ground and the neutral are installed and the black live wire is capped off with a marrette...all you have to do is stick it in the breaker...make sure your breaker is off

Check out my website below for some installs.

Tim

Good luck on your closing
