I don’t think the police do parking enforcement, the town has people specifically for parking. I might be wrong on that.
While I get your frustration, don’t think that Milton is unique in this. Every town has overzealous parking enforcement, and the whole racket is geared towards discouraging people from fighting unjust tickets.
In Hamilton, I once parked DIRECTLY in front of a “parking permitted” 11:00AM- 4:00 PM sign, foolishly thinking that I could park there. I got a ticket for parking within 50ft of a fire hydrant that I hadn’t noticed just up the street.
Fighting the $20 ticket would have cost me a day of work, so I ended up paying it.
It’s infuriating, but what can you do? Our politicians are desperate for cash to pay for all those services we demand of them, so they create all sorts of sneaky ways to milk us of cash.
