Being on this forum for quite sometime, I know there are alot of Miltonians that have joined.

A few weeks ago my brother had (what we are almost sure is a seizure ~~ tests will soon confirm) on the side of Derry while riding his motorcycle. Please read this letter if you were one of the pedestrians that stopped to help, or the nurse that pulled over to offer assistance. It was written by my brother. Please PM me if you are or know of the kind nurse who took the time out to stop and assist.

*************************************************************

I am writing this letter in hopes that it reaches the extremely helpful nurse that with no hesitation pulled over on the side of Derry (past Trafalgar) on Wednesday August 5 in the afternoon when I suddenly went into extreme convulsions while riding a motorcycle. The experience for me was unexplainable and extremely scary, while I had felt the convulsions coming on I was unsure what exactly was going to happen as I started to lose conscienceness. I remember passing out and waking up in the hospital after being transported by ambulance, and was later told by my brother in law that you immediately pulled over to offer assistance even trying to pry the bike out of my hands and off my body while I was convulsing. It is because of extraordinary people like yourself that the paramedics where able to understand in greater detail what may have happened to me. I also want to thank the other pedestrians who pulled over to offer assistance. It has given me a renewed apprectiation for the general public and for people such as yourself that with no hesitation tried to help me out in a great time of need. I hope somehow this letter reaches you all so you understand how appreciative I really am. To the nurse I ask that you please PM my sister to provide your name and contact information so that I may thank you in person aswell.
Once again thank you all so much.

Wow...what a great letter in responce to your hour of need. Although I was not there that day, I wish to recognize that there are many great heroes in this town....all the best to you.

My neighbour is a nurse, let me find out if that was her. I'm happy that your brother is ok now.

Thanks for this fantastic story.

It`s nice to see that Milton is`t all about parking enforcement, dumping, and petitions.

I hope that he is doing well.

As a rider myself, and as I get older, I think about what would happen if I passed out while riding (i believe it to be a low risk else I would not ride). Not a good thought but on the real hot sunny summer days, wearing leather and a helmet in slow moving traffic, heat exhaustion can do some strange things.

It is very encouraging to read stories of compassion of the people who stop to help. People actions can save a life.

Tell me about it! I got stuck once on the DVP during rush hours traffic wearnig full leathers and it was the hottest day of the season! I was on my Honda 600RR where the exhaust was right under my ass. It was sooo hot that I thought I was going to pass out. Any how I was able to get to the next exit where I was able to cool off and have a ICE COLD drink. :D

A BIG thank you to everyone for your well wishes and encouraging words.

Thank goodness by brother in law was in front of him, when my brother starting feeling strange he was honking his horn like crazy! They were on their way back from Wasaga and almost home. Since it happened he still talks about this nurse that helped him.

My husband owns a 2003 Honda Shadow Ace.. we rode downtown last Friday night and got stuck from QEW Mississauga Rd. to the Spadina cut off, we were on the highway for over 2 hours!! It was BRUTAL!! I was boiling!
