Hi everyone,
I was reading the MIlton newspaper and was  to see what's been happening in Milton 's residential area recently.
Here are some of the cases that happened:

Nov 19, 2004

A youth faces a weapons charge after a resident saw what looked to be someone pointing a gun at pedestrians last week.
Police were called November 11 to investigate the incident, which took place at Main and Ontario streets, and discovered a replica gun.

A Milton boy was charged with having a dangerous weapon.

FARM BROKEN INTO

Machinery was stolen from a Sixth Line farm Monday morning.

Sometime between 8 a.m. and noon, unknown suspects entered an unlocked shed and stole two chain saws, a Stihl and a McLaughlin, worth a total of $1,500.

HOME BROKEN INTO

A No. 2 Sideroad home was broken into Monday.

Sometime between 4 and 6:30 p.m., unknown suspects kicked in the front door and stole various electronics. A value of the stolen property hasn't yet been determined.

HOME BROKEN INTO

Unknown suspects broke into a Laurier Avenue home Tuesday.

The incident occurred between 11:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Police don't know how entry was gained. Stolen were two headsets, 20 CDs, about 25 DVDs and a wallet.

The estimated value of the stolen property is $400.

VCR, JEWELLERY STOLEN

A Robert Street home was broken into overnight Monday.

Unknown suspects entered the home through an unlocked window and stole a VCR and jewelry. The value of the stolen property hasn't yet been determined.

TIRES SLASHED

All four tires of a vehicle parked at a Martin Street home were slashed overnight November 10.

The estimated value of the damage is $200. Police are investigating.

CAR WINDOW SMASHED

A window of a car parked at Kelso Conservation Area last week was smashed.

The driver's side window was smashed sometime between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. November 11, and about $200 in damage was caused.

Relatively speaking, it's not much.

This is the Milton Champion. The paper is 90% advertising and about 10% stories. Maybe they publish the local crime reports just to add content.

I heard that there is a lot of people who are ot happy with the new developmentin Milton. There are many incidents of minor vandalism and break-ins.

My brother in law who lives in the greenpark homes had his car stolen. He got it back a few days later...they took it for a joy ride!

Hopefully, things will not get worse. Its just a reminder that you have to be careful no matter where you are.

Hawthorne villagers can start a neighbourhood watch...if people are concerned.
