We had our after market AC unit installed this past February....as the cold weather is approaching I am hoping to get some response from the company that sold me the unit as they hopefully will be less busy now! I have had a loud hissing sound in my basement every time the AC unit is running. I had the company come by this summer and they said that the loud noise is perfectly normal and it's part of the refrigeration process....I've lived in many houses with AC and never have heard such a loud hissing sound........... Can anyone share any insight? I would caution anyone looking for an AC unit for next year to think twice about using this company as the after sales service is not the greatest. The hissing sound is not normal. But the excuse, that "it is normal", is very common today. When problems present a challenge then some in the trades, some builders, and others, will just say that a problem is normal so they can move along in their simple lives. |
