Got a flyer in the mail I'm sure allot of people have about the Home Depot opening on the 19th and on the 18th they have a community event from 6-9pm. Finally I wont have to drive down the 401 to Winston Churchill to go to the one there. |

From a 5-10 min drive to now a 1min drive is a big difference. Especially if sometimes I have to make multiple trips in one day for working at different places. Good news. For box of screws it is Rona at the Main St. But for full load of plywood/drywall or deck/playground logs or garden/tree stuff - 12 KM (which is 24 if you mean to come back to the place where you live) is too far. And too dangerous to drive back with this load at the roof rack of the family minivan at 401 (100 is not only maximum but minimum) |

Jan 19 is correct. Know someone who has their training there already. Apparently its a slightly smaller model store with no food store combo built in. |

Thanks for letting me know Lumpy........ Does anyone know if they are planning on building anything in the south end of Milton? Around Britannia and 4th line? |

The south end of Milton will EVENTUALLY be developed right to Britania all along the east-west corridor...but it will take time. In fact I believe it will be the last survey area to be built up, with the next run taking place in the west end of the Town at the foot of the escarpment. I have copies of planning projections and surveys...out to about 2019 I believe...and if I remember correctly I saw a population projection in my reading of about 120 000 by that year - at which point things will drastically level off in the Town proper. Though I'm the first to admit I can't claim to know any of this for absolute certain. It's simply information I've gathered from some meetings I've had with people who know better than I do as well as some documents I was given when we first bought in Miltion in 2001. |

I find that the rona sometimes does not stock alot of what they carry and it's hard to find certain things or a wide selection of items. |

I can't wait till Home Depot opens, although I find that Rona has some good deals and stuff other stores don't have. IE they were the only ones to have the same down spouts size for Mattamy Phase 12. That I noticed anyway. Tim |

GregoryL wrote: There is very little land left between Derry to the north and Hwy 5 to the south in Oakville that has not been purchased by developers either outright or by option (meaning that the farmers will be there until the developers are ready to build). There is plenty of land that is protected because it is part of the water shed, but most of the farmland we see will ultimately be developed. Within 15 years, Milton will likely been nicknamed 'Oakville North' as the two towns collide.
Surely you mean Milton South Matt |

It will be nice however I feel sorry for the Greenpark home owners across the street. Poor people were probably never told a future HD was going to be put there. I would hate it as HD is always busy and brings lots of traffic - that area/corner is bad enough with the Tims and the shiatty parking lot, now they're adding to it with and HD. I suggest we close the crappy Rona in town and use the surrounding land to move the HD there. Just my 2 cents Gman |

The RONA is a joke. It's still the old Rona/buiding box old store. I went there once and I couldn't believe the amount of dust inside the store on the shelves / stock. |
