| Post subject: | Front loader washer question |
We just purchased a front loader before we move into our new home in May next year. It is a Samsung. We find so far it doesn't clean as well as our old top loader. Is there a trick to getting heavily soiled items clean? We paid a lot of money and are using the HE detergent...but I am thinking since the wash is not completely soaked in water it doesn't clean as well. Please help! |

I tried the heavily soiled load... Do any of you have kids or hubby's with really soiled clothing? That is where the difficulty is...just not getting stains out like my old washer did! |

How much clothes do you put in the machine? The front loaders need more clothes, but too much! if that makes sense. |

I find my Maytag front load does a far better job than my old top load washer, and it uses less water and doesnt damage clothing (since there isnt that stick in the middle). What detergent are you using? We are using Zero (with Woolite) |

Hi: We used Cheer. What detergent does everyone else use??? I think we had the machine about half full when we put my husbands pants in - our other older Kenmore would have been able to clean them - but once the load was finished the stain was still there...we were disapointed since we paid a lot of money for steam washers - thinking you get what you pay for...so we thought it would be a good investment with two little ones as well. |

I think you may need more clothes in there, at least 3/4 full. Apparently, you need more clothes so they can rub against each other to get clean. I use Zero and Tide for he for detergent and sometimes Melaluca. I seen a study in customer report It had the best detergents listed in order Tide and some Walmart brand (mountain..) was at the top, Cheers was near the bottom. |

It's all about the pre-wash. I havn't had a problem with my work clothes since I started using more detergent in the pre-wash. |

May sound stupid, but what is the pre-wash? Should I look for that cycle when purchasing my set? |

it's not a stupid question .... In your detergent dispenser, there should be two holders, one marked pre-wash and one marked detergent dry / liquid the pre-wash, i am talking about, is just the machine putting the pre-wash soap into the cycle right at the beginning of the cycle. |

The front loads have many choices when washing clothes, pre wash, extra rinse, heavy cycle... Pre wash is an extra cycle, your machine will prewash the clothes then wash them again as a regular cycle. |

I guess they stepped it up a notch, since the report I saw about 2 years ago. They must have changed something... Thanks for that report now I will try cheers! Cheaper is Better if it works! |
