Hi Zoli & Kathy and other posters
Thanks for the comments and ideas.
Just one clarification. The Town does not own land in the 9th Line corridor, the recommendation (see attached link)
http://www.milton.ca/execserv/agendas20 ... proval.pdf
is to transfer this ribbon of land from Highway #401 to #403 between 9th line and the Highway #407 which is only 200-300 metres wide from the Town of Milton and Region of Halton to the City of Mississauga and Region of Peel. The City of Mississauga already owns about 1/3rd of the area bought from the Ministry of Government Services in the former Parkway Belt area which they are planning for future parks and recreation facilities.
As part of the recommendation which still has to be approved by the Province, the Mississauga and Peel will be compensating Milton and Halton for the costs of the roads and future assessment lost through the transfer. Milton staff are recommending these funds be placed in reserves for future budgets.

ps. all Milton and Halton councillors live in their communities and I can see the new homes being built in the Vista, Fieldgate and Heathwood Homes areas from my windows.
