It really comes down to is this something Rick cares about or not. If the website is a hobby of Rick's, he may not care. If this is a business for Rick, then I agree it is similar to hijacking. I know he allows BuildingHomes.ca have a sticky which offers a 'competing' forum, however he also advertises, and adds value as a posting member. Rick has always welcome'd non-Mattamy homeowners, but one can't miss the fact its all about Mattamy There is definitely not an organized group of non-Mattamy owners on a forum, just a sprinkling here and there (actually, on buildinghomes.ca there are more non-M discussions).

Reality is the site will probably just fizzle away.

I care about anything that helps people better communicate & connect with their neighbors and community . I have a full time job so this forum isn't really my business. But it's more than a hobby. Something in between.

This forum is open to everyone interested in Milton, although it's main focus are the communities in and around Hawthorne Village. Whether that be HV, HVE, HV Vista, Hollybank, Coscorp, etc. The main builder it focuses on in the sub-forums is Mattamy.

I don't mind people posting about other forums or websites. Any 'competition' between forums of similar interests should be friendly. Although some other forums that operate as a business do ban threads mentioning 'competitors', I don't do that here.

My favorite forums are
(1) Hawthorne Villager
(2) Financial Webring forum - best Canadian financial forum out there!
(3) Buildinghomes.ca (although don't have time to be active anymore)
(4) Milton Moms (of course I'm not a member, but my wife is)
(5) Red Flag Deals
(6) Digital Home Canada

I know there are other great forums out there besides those 6. The list is long, I just don't have enough free time to visit any more.

But no, I won't delete or stop postings about 'competing' forums unless the post is bending some other forum rule/guideline.

I figured as much. Its paying for itself and more, however its decline isn't stealing food off your table (maybe just replacing the ribs with chicken nuggets )

I'm moving into HVE and I consider this forum mostly a Milton Mattamy owners forum, but the general area/ads area to be a general Milton residents forum. The name works for me as is
