We were reading the "Village Fence Post" (Vol. 5 Issue 3) the news-sheet that Mattamy does for Hawthorne Village and read that they have these event in Hawthorne Village a few times a year? It says...

"One of the ways that we like to reward homeowner pride is by hosting Flower Fests. These neighbourhood get-togethers occur close to each phase's sod completion date, and are an opportunity to enjoy some refreshments, pick up perennials from Terra Greenhouses to plant in your gardens to enhance the streetscapes year-round, and collect annuals for a burst of colour."

Has anyone from previous phases been to one of these? I can't tell from reading it if they mean they provide some flowers to plant for free or for purchase? Either way the pictures looked nice in the newsletter, and sounds like a great way to get people together in each phase.

I used to live in phase 2. I'm not sure if it's the same now, but what they do is give you Terra bucks (Terra is the company that brings in all the plants, shrubs,etc). Everything will be priced and you basically pick what you want and pay for it with the coupons. I think they give about $100 worth, but remember of course that the prices are not cheap. I think I was able to buy 1 cedar tree, 2 shrubs and some pansies. If you wanted to buy more, I think you just paid cash for the rest. It definitely at least helped you get started with your gardening.

So does Mattamy give you the $150 to spend on the flowers etc?
