Play It Again Sports on Main just west of Ontario. Also, Canadian Tire does it, but my son's hockey coaches say not to get them done there.

I was looking for a place a few months back -- take them to Play it Again Sports on the north side of Main St. just west of Ontario -- they do a great job.

we get A LOT of skates sharpened LOL

Favourite and best place BY FAR is West star, as mentioned before...but as it is a bit of a drive...we find Play it Again is fine.

I do not recommend Cdn Tire or Sport Chek...they are awful and we've had a bad experience there everytime we have been...(we gave them I believe 3 strikes each)

Good Luck!

Play it again can have a bit of a wait...so I don't recommend heading over right before game time....you may have to drop them for an hour or so and do some errands and come back. Especially with all the pond hockey we've been able to enjoy lately! :)

We recently sharpened ours at Can. Tire & had to go back because they were not very sharp at all  Will not sharpen them again at CT!

How much does Play it Again Sports charge?

Play it again does a pretty good job.

Where's the game this weekend? Mill pond? How thick is the ice?

Post subject:  Skate Sharpening

Bought one of my kids a new pair of skates at Crappy Tire last week and the sharpening was free. Good thing I didn't have to pay for that. The poor kid doing it lacked a little confidence. Really slow and of poor quality. I'm sure he'll get better at it soon though.

Then bought another pair at Cdn Tire in Brampton. Sharpening was not free this time, but was even worse. They have one of those self-enclosed machines. Really, really, really bad. Got them re-done by the old guy at Memorial Arena for $4. Would've gladly paid $10. What a diffrenece.
