John,

I have seen this many times. I have often wondered if this tracking capability would work if the furnace was in a home, garage, or in the back of an enclosed truck. I am pretty sure that a thief would not leave the stolen furnace out in a field somewhere.

Yes. I guess I did. I didn't think about it too much. I just made that assumption. So, I guess they can find these furnaces with some sort of tracking equipment if they go missing.

A tracking device for your furnace? Isn't there are more mobile items that is more easily stolen? (ie. TV, computers or even appliances)


Hi MovetoMilton08,

Furnaces, windows, doors, and anything else worth money are often stolen from construction sites. New furnaces would be a prime targets for thieves.
