Another endorsement for Glen.

I am not just posting this to boost Glen's workload or advertise for him. I would actually like him to be free in case I have an emergency plumbing issue in the future! However, Glen deserved to be recognized and recommended.

I would highly recommend Glen for your plumbing needs. He is one of the nicest/funniest guy that you will ever meet and very courteous. Glen's quote & price is unbelievable!!! Glen came by last night and resolved my hot water (lack of) issue I have been having since Sunday morning after swapping of 20gal holding tank to 40gal. We ran into additional issues which were fixed and Glen didn't want to charge me for the extra effort involved.

Thanks again Glen!!!

Peter

Ps. I won't post details of what I went through but if anyone is interested PM me and I will give you a short version.

When we first moved into our townhouse, we would empty the hot water tank if we used the soaker tub. Worse, sometimes it would empty and then not be able to restart (brrrrrrrrrr)

Reliance said it was an extra 2 bucks /month for a bigger tank and we said, go for it and have not have issues since.

I'm curious though if anyone or even if Glen can answer this, but we don't seem to get a lot of hot water in the house. It's the same since we moved in, its just no longer enough with kids and family here.

How does one go about increasing the amount of hot water available? Is it the size as mentioned above? Or one of those tankless heaters I hear so much about?

What sort of budget do you look at for a project like that?

I recently had Glen over to install my dishwasher and kitchen faucet and he did such an excellent job. My dishwasher (due to Mattamy making the counters 1-inch shorter) presented a challenge to secure to the cabinetry. Glen took the extra time to figure out how to do it and didn't charge me extra for the additional time it took. The install was clean and quality was great.
I told Glen that I was giving the Mattamy faucet to my dad and he was so kind to show my dad how he should go about installing the faucet. I thought it was really sweet of him to do this (when really he didn't have to) and I know that both my dad and I appreciated it.

I highly recommend Glen for any plumbing work and I will definitely contact him again in future. He definitely has a great personality (super friendly), is patient, and does great work at a great price. Glen even taught us a few things about plumbing. There's a reason why he's so busy!

Actually, just an update here - Glen has contacted me recently to let me know he will be taking a break from doing jobs for us nice Villager folks due to changes in his professional and personal schedules.

If you try to contact him and get no reply, he may not be checking his email as often due to above - I just wanted to share this and set expectations. I'm sure Glen will come online to update us all if and when he can take on more of our side jobs again.

Thanks to Glen for everything!

There's so many 'Glen's a the best plumber' topics, but rather than making yet another, I bumped this one from 2010. He still sounds busy like crazy, but he did a great job as usual for me. Not often do trades ask for less than I want to pay.. lol

I had him replace the flappers in 4 of my toilets and one fill valve. We had tried 3-4 'recommended models' at home depot (it was really great of them, first guy says, "buy this one", when we go back another guy says "no, that was the wrong one, use this one", and the third was like "uh, keep trying until you get one that works".

Glen peddles flappers that actually WORK in our crane toilets like its the secret sauce :) (And by peddle I mean sells for what he paid for them). If anyone's got running cranes, I suggest you guy the 'Master Plumber Hornet'. Its yellow and not at any of the local places, but you'll probably be able to get them at Noble.. might set you back as much as $3.

Again, you need plumbing, Glen is your man. He's worth waiting around on (although he responded same day to my email and worked around my schedule to see me in a few days).

Go Glen!

Good luck! He doesn't check email all the time - he's not a smart phone addict like most of us :) If he is not over booked already, he usually replies quickly!

I think Glen may have changed his email address. When we used him not long ago I corresponded to him via glentheplumber62@gmail.com
