I recently got a garage door opener installed and thought I'd give the guy a plug since he did such a good job. Greg from buildinghomes.ca came on Sat and spent the morning setting up the door unit. Thanks Ryan! I appreciate it very much. I learned a few things about Mattamy houses when I did that one. Required a lot of troubleshooting skills and I am glad I had plenty of experience beforehand. The garage doors are quite thin. Looked to be less than 1 cm thick. There is very very little overhead room to install an opener and still have enough of an angle to open the door without hitting the rail. Just something for other Mattamy homeowners to look out for. There may be other models with even less space above the door which may either require drastic measures to make one fit, or just not get an opener at all. This is was in a semi-detached house with living space over the garage. |
