Hi Guys,

If you are or know a professional OTA antenna installer, please let me know. I am looking to get Toronto and Buffalo channels and live in a detached home in HV.

Thanks.

I used this guy and paid (Can't remember exactly) approx. $250 including parts and labour. He installed Channel Master original equipment.

He did excellent job. Getting around 24 crystal clear channels.

His name is Serge - 416-301-8278. OTA installation is his full time job.

Thanks, Raj

what type of install are you looking for?

attic? mounted outside the house, or on a mast/pole/tripod?

Does attic mounted cost more/less? And is it more/less effective than the outside mounted ones?

if your paying for it, go outside and mount it on the roof. Its better.

Its not hard, have you thought about doing this yourself?

Do you have south exposure? Mounting on the side of the house is fine. Where is your TV located? Is your basement finished?

Hi -

I don't want to get it mounted on the roof due to warrenty issue with builder and plus I don't like heights, if I were to do it myself. :)

I am thinking of getting it mounted on the side wall of the house, if all possible.

We the corner lot and have west is in the front of the house and east at the end. We want the connection in living room and bedroom above it which are in the back end of the house facing east. My basement is unfinished.

Do you have cable going to the rooms now? Are they in use? If the cables are they, it should be an easy install. Just mount the antenna to the side of you house and point it towards Lake O and start tweaking for the best signal.

John from Mohawk TV has been installing antennas in the area for 30 plus years. I think his number is 905 854 2116.

Do a little search on this site, there is a post of what channels you can get. Its worth it though. You can receive all the major networks, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Global, City, CBC, CFTO and more. I’m only getting 20 but I know you can get a few more. Mine is in the attic and I’ll probably play with it more to get the other channels, but its enough for me. I’m missing City, fox and global. No worries for me.

Try and install it yourself, don’t spend the 200 plus bucks, unless wiring to your room is an issue, let the pro figure it out.  but if you can manage wiring cable to your tv, installing the antenna is a breeze.

Interesting. We get City and Global and 9 others HD. And our antenna is just on the ground level, hiding behind the TV.
