We plan to install build-in cooktop in our new home which is closing shortly. Last weekend, we saw our kitchen cabinet and countertop were installed but they did not cut the hole on the counttop for the build-in cooktop. We are wonderging will Mattamy or the kitchen company cut it for us(we provided demensions of all build-in appliances to Mattamy)? or we need to cut it after closing? If we need cut it after closing, how much is the resonable price to pay for the cutting? Anyone has had any experience? Thanks.

If the counter-top is laminate then they will cut it for you per the specs you gave Mattamy. If it is a stone counter-top then the supplier will cut the opening prior to delivery. This is the understanding that I was given.

My countertop is laminate from Mattamy. So, you meant Mattamy will cut it for us? Emm, if so, I will ask them about this. :-)

Ours wasn't cut as well. Mattamy sent someone in (from Canac) to come in and cut it after close.

Christine&Mike, could you please tell me who did you asked to install your build-in cooktop? I am looking for someone to install ours. We also have build-in wall oven and microwave need to be installed. Any recommendation? Thanks.

Hi, we bought our built in oven and cooktop from Goeman's and had them install it IIRC.
