When I worked for a computer company the warranty was such a big push as it was all margin.

My recommendation would be to use a major credit card that doubles the original manufacturers warranty. That's what I do.

i always get the extended warranties, and half the time i need to go back a couple years down the road because the electronic no longer works, and they exchange it no questions asked, and if the same model isnt available, they bump you to the next current model, its a sweet deal really, a must have for computers
