Hi there, Chris and I have gone with some great upgrades. Hardwood floors, all oak staircase, ceramic in bathroom, kitchen, powder room, kitchen cupboards, cupboards over the fridge will meet the edge of the fridge and an oak 'encasement" if you will surrounds the fridge so you dont see anything except the front fridge door. We also moved the drawers beside the sink to the area between stove and fridge which opens that corner cupboard into a piano hinge door. Removed hood fan to accomodate microwave/hood fan over the stove. Frees up the counter space big time! Can you tell I love to cook and the kitchen was important to me! hahaha California Fireplace in living room. We are deleting the bathroom fixtures and will put in our own. This is one thing that we heard from friends from the beginning of this adventure and is highly recommended as the Mattamy fixtures (toilet paper role, towel racks) etc are all cemented into the walls. We are also moving the washer/dryer to right beside the basement stairs so as when we finish the basement we can build walls around the w/d and the furnace/hot water heater. Makes for a larger rec room. We saw this in one of the Bryants being built a while ago and it makes a big difference. |
