I know what you mean. I'm glad I got rid of my Dropped down Honda Civic and got a car with a little more ground clearance, because I never would have gotten through Thompson in one piece. I remember a time when I took it up one of those big dirt piles in the Mattamy development LOL it amost got sucked up Tim |

I was always wondering why people need SUVs for GTA. Living in Milton since last Nov and having curb work at our street during this week made it clear and loud. I remember how I was terribly shocked by Derry road conditions at my very first visit of Milton two years ago. At least it is the real reason why to call it H-village. Now I know why new (two years old) already build houses are much more expensive. It is because car repairs are included in the house price. |

kemist wrote: An update on the issue... and a word of advice.... don't hit any potholes or bumps along the bad sections of road (particularily on Thompson) - quite impossible I know!
They denied my claim, and said it is because they could not find any bump in the road... HOWEVER, I did notice they patched the area about 2 weeks after it happened... sounds a little corrupt if you ask me. They fix it, then deny my claim saying they can't find anything? I highly doubt a good samaritan came along and patched it!!!!!! I plan to appeal it, and try to meet with the engineer since he couldn't decipher my clear as day instructions with photos on where the bump is. Seems they want to play stupid and avoid paying my $850 bill. I'm thinking if I still don't get anywhere, I can bring it to the attention of the Ward 1 councillor and see if he can help? anyone have any other advice? kemist Kemist, I saw the bump you were talking about and am sorry to say that if it is the same one, I know why your claim was denied. The bump is not on the road, it is on the dirt shoulder and the ditch next to the road. It would appear you cut your turn too much and hit the bump on the shoulder. The two roads meet at a 90 degree angle, you need to swing out then in to get onto Thompson. Again, not sure if it is the same bump but good luck with your claim. Matt |
