How long does a PDI take on average?

Depends on problems in your house.

1-3 hrs.

Usually they try to book for 2hrs.

Try this link out for many pdi details.

They try to book you for 2, but we were there for 3 hrs 45 mins. I told them when I called they should keep 4 hours open for me.

You have to be thorough!

Bring a cup and check your washing machine drains! Ours was not connected right and we had 25 liters of water go into the basement!!! Could you imagine if the laundry was on the 2nd floor!!

I have to agree with Sam, take your time, don't let them rush you. The person that we did our PDI with would kind of laugh when i pointed things out to her. As if she was saying, 'give me a break', in her head. She was doing it to make us feel silly or like we were being too picky. I didn't let that stop me though, i continued looking at things the way i usually would without letting her make me feel silly. Also, she kept rushing us saying, oh don't forget you have your 10 day if you miss anything now. Yes, this is true, but the more you catch on the PDI the better as it is easier for you to have Mattamy fix things between PDI and closing rather than after. Remember, its your home, take your time and look at everything!

Six months? You're only gettin' started Sam! Hang on for the ride.

I didn't sign off on the last of the items from our various inspections until well after 2 years from the date we moved in. Mind you I'm referring to another builder - not Mattamy. They were decent enough about it and yes I would have preferred things move somewhat more quickly...but in the end everything we wanted done was addressed.

Just stay calm, be very persistent and keep Tarion (and sometimes your lawyer) in the loop on everything.

Actually I just sent warranty/customer service an email with our list of unfinished items as well. This will be our third summer in and we're still waiting for items to be finished or perhaps finished properly. Didn't Mattamy have signs on doors of homes that said "Do it right the first time". Darn I think that started after phase 11!!!
