Stop looking for a Barber in town and head over to Fioravante on Steeles/Ontario plaza. I used to get haircut from Tony but now he has hired Leroy. The guy actually uses scissor & comb to cut hair as opposed to the clippers! Brought back some memories of good old days when they used to know how to cut hair the right way...

The price is reasonable @ $12 (including taxes) but don't forget to tip the guy so that he sticks around :)

Pete, how do you know Kiddan's undercarriage is old? :?

Full head of hair, huh? Well Kiddan, that depends on what colour it is dye-free. lol.

Perhaps Kiddan had a bad experience with a Flowbee and the undercarriage a few years back resulting in a trip to the emergency room. Ever since then, it's barber shops all the way!

Personal request - this is the final post mentioning Kiddan's undercarriage.
Deal?

I havent had the need for regular barber visits for the past several years (BC....Before Children)

I do the self serve cuts at home. Saved me a bundle over the past while. Still, every once in awhile Id like to take advantage of a rest and let someone else do it.

I self shear with a home clipper set. Used to do it in highschool, and when the baby came along I thought it would be a good low maintenance option.

"Self Shear".
I like that term, sounds cool and risky. lol
That's what I'll call it from now on.

"yeeeah, I self shear."

Thanks Kevin! (That IS Kevin, I hope.)

This is where you guys are going wrong! You guys probably pay to have your grass professionally manicured for hundreds of dollars and yet neglecting the biggest sex appeal that men have. Can you imagine how much a$$ you guys could be getting if you had a professionally manicured head?!?!? (Assuming if you are in the market)

Disclaimer: I will be editing my post after a little while before my wife logs in...

Just being evil and quoting you so you can't delete it completely. (below)
LOL! Besides, I don't need to attract any more than my lovely wife (leaving this ON when she logs on hehe), and I have no sick George Costanza / African elderly care worker oil rubbing fantasies. I'll take my 8 minute at home weekly free haircut, and treat myself to the occasional $35 straight blade hot towel shave.

For the record, I mow my own lawn (I assume we're now talking LITERALLY, the green grass outside of the house) Hundreds of dollars??? Try a used $50 pushmower and a $29 electric Trimmer/edger. :)

Oh yeah! You've GOT to treat yourself to the shave once in a while. THAT's where a good, old-fashioned, old-school baber shop rules.

Yes, 99.9999999% of the Kevin&Amanda post count is me, Kevin. I think she has posted twice.

And I can't wait for a place to come to Milton offering hot towel straight blade shaves. It's such a treat.

Don't quote me here... But I'm under the understanding that this service has been grandfathered out of Ontario, and unless you had an old shoppe that was doing it before it was legislated out, you can no longer offer this service for sanitary/safety reasons. So there will be no new places offering it - But I can offer you no proof of that.

Once a year, during a planned hooky day with my friends, we head down to the concourse level of the Royal York to the men's barber shoppe for straight blade shaves, administered by classy, old-school, Italian gentlemen, where you can discuss anything from sports to women in style. This is a must. Done properly, this process should run anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes, and include facial massage, several layers of lotions, and shaving time, and you should leave with the feeling that your face has never sprouted a hair in your life... Even if just for a short while.

As for Kiddan, I'm with you. I've promised myself that as long as I have hair, I'll get it cut properly. If I go somewhere where they have to rely on clippers to do the job, then I'm outta there.

There was a place in Brampton that I used to go to. They had a bunch of old Italians in there who did it. Then someone else bought the place out, and they still offer the hot towel shave, but they don't do it the same. All the employees are under the age of 40 now :(
