| Post subject: | New East Indian Grocery on Nipissing |
For any of you that like to make curries, etc at home (i know i'm dutch, but we LOVE Indian food) - there was a grand opening today for a little Indian grocery store at 810 Nipissing (the new complex just built) called Mehran Ethnic Food we saw the flyer yesterday and stopped by this afternoon for some tandoori chicken on a bun. The owners are very nice! they have lots of indian spices, lentils, basmati rice, paneer, etc. now i don't have to drive down derry to the one by the 7 eleven! just in case anyone was interested! |

Do they sell "samosa's"? The only ones that I have found (not that I have looked hard in Milton) are at Rabba & Loblaws. Tim |

there is really good indian food....(not a full menu) but butter chicken, roti's, etc. etc as well as samosas on Hwy 25 and Ontario, right across the street from Charlie Fitzwhiskeys. It's not the nicest place to look at, and like I said, they don't have a full indian menu, but their food is GREAT!!!!! Jessica PS: Thank you so much for this, as I have never really known where to get some of the ingredients, this will be great....do they sell prepared food as well?? |

i'm not sure about the hot samosas (i saw frozen ones) - we were already running late for noah's nap when we got there, so the boys went and got a quick bite to eat at their bbq, and i poped in for some paneer. i didn't see any hot food, but i may have missed it! if they don't have hot samosas, the Indian Grocer at Derry & Ninth Line does. but they had some spice mixtures to make certain dishes (butter chicken, raita, tandoori, etc) that i'm going to try. hockeymortgagemom wrote: there is really good indian food....(not a full menu) but butter chicken, roti's, etc. etc as well as samosas on Hwy 25 and Ontario, right across the street from Charlie Fitzwhiskeys.
they're called Milton Cafe ( not very ethnic,eh?) and they do have great Roti! we also like their little buffet on fridays. |
