Hi All, Just curious to know when the park is completed will there be a path going directly into PL Robertson? Would make it a lot easier for the kids to take the park when they go to school. Thanks, Rob |

What's going on with the construction on Savoline where the catholic school is going? It looks like a foundation or something has been poured in the last few weeks. Any idea what it is? |

Well since it's being done where the catholic school is going I have a hunch it's probably a foundation for a catholic school.

I heard its not meant to be done til 2013 or so.. a little early for a school foundation I think lol |

I hear what you're saying but they have to take a long term view of things as well. Even though that capacity could be useful for a few years, it doesn't mean it'll always be needed. Ten years from now we'll need to build high schools to hold 5000+ students each. Not realistic. Better to live with temporary portables for a few years than to end up with tons of excess (wasted) capacity later on. |

EC Drury is rented and from what I recall from a meeting I was at 3 years ago we are on borrowed time until it shuts down. Matt |

That's part of the answer, but the other part has to do with the formula used to determine need. The formula used did not account for the increased density of families in Milton. 2-3 families per house as opposed Oakville and Burlington where it's more like 1 - 1.25 per. The HDSB recently realized that they needed a fourth school in HV East, and are in the process of getting funding to build it on Derry just west of Fourth Line. It's still 3-4 years out though. |

I really think they need to find a way to make schools "convertable." Right now, we're building all these Junior schools. We still only have 3 High schools. When all these kids outgrow the "juniors", where will they go? (I'm sure we'll have built more high schools by then.) Why not build a school that can be both? When the neighbourhood ages, it converts to a high school. Rather than sit 1/2 empty until the next "boom". And when the boom hits, it converts back. I've over simplified it, I know, but there's got to be a way to do that. |

JTP That's not a half bad idea. Back in the 'Peg there were a couple jr high, high school combinations. Here, it would be a little different, but it wouldn't be too far fetched. |
