Oh stop with your sanctimonious bull-crap.
Good for you that you were able to save your money to buy your house. We were fortunate to be able to do so as well.
But not everyone is as fortunate as we are.
Yes, there is an abundance of work out there. Have you recently tried to find work? It isn't as easy as you think. You are making gross assumptions about something you quite obviously know nothing about!
People who are doctors in their home countries when they come here, the Government says their qualifications aren't good enough. SO they cannot work in their field, and are forced to take a job below their skill set just so they can live. Most jobs require so-called Canadian Experience, but tell me how an immigrant can get that 'canadian experience' when people like you won't give them a decent job?
Have you ever been to a settlement agency? homeless shelter? poverty centres???
When you can barely afford to buy bus tickets to get to work so you can afford to pay outrageous rent prices and then still eat, then maybe you will understand why there are 10 people in one home.
As far as bringing friends over - immigration does NOT allow you to sponsor friends. And a new immigrant has every right to bring over their families, why should they not?
I'd love to know what generation Canadian you all are.
If immigrants weren't able to sponsor families, my mom never would have been able to come over. But because she is from Belfast does that make it any better in your books?????
I am not even a minority and I am appauled by your words. As someone in an interracial relationship with someone whose parents fought long and hard for what they have worked for here, I am completely disgusted with you as a person.

Not true. It is the College of Physicians of Ontario (think of it as the doctor's union) that says it. And they don't make it easy for Doctors for out of province either.

If someone has it that hard here but still decides to remain, it means that back in their own country is even worst, otherwise they would not stay. However, the truth is, most of them do stay because welfare is real sweet and doing a job on the side for cash allows them to continue receiving welfare, GST rebate and the maximum Canada Child tax benefit. Believe me, they make almost 50k a year by just doping that. And this is a fact.

My experience tells me otherwise. I see the heritage Canadian the most open-minded people, hiring mostly on merit bases. However, what me and a lot of my friends has experienced (being non visible minority emigrants) is being excluded from opportunities when the decision maker is of visible minority.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against any race or skin color, I am against any discrimination of any sort, and that includes political correctness that I consider discrimination too. But, it is a fact, that certain newcomer groups within visible minorities are trying to turn Canada into their own home country, and this is something I am willing to fight against. If someone considers this racist, than I am proud to be one.
