Post subject:  Wedding Music help!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

So my fiancé and I are getting married in 4 weeks and we are almost done all the final details, well except one. I am holding up the DJ song list because I can’t find a good song to dance with my mother with for the son & mother dance, does anyone have any suggestions? I have googled list after list and I can’t find anything that is somewhat recent or to my taste (102.1 FM & Top 40). Anyhow if anyone has any suggestions, please suggest below, I’ll give all links a listen and laugh at the first Rick Roll!

Thanks Villagers!!!!!

Muse - Uprising

You said mother-in-law, right?

Random Song: Sunrise Sunset (from fiddler on the roof). A very parent-child song. Not top-40 or edge, but well, I said random.

My mom and I danced to "the man you've become". It made her cry... But it is country.

These are all great suggestions and I will listen to them, but does anyone know of any current covers? I know Pearl Jam did a cover to Landside (by Fleetwood Mac) and it was amazing but impossible to find to Download.

Josh Groban - You Raise Me Up

i was at a wedding and they played this song for the mother/son & father/daughter dance ... everyone at the wedding was bawling their eyes out.

It isn't a common song, but it is a very fitting one - specifically written for a mother son dance:

A Song for my Son:

Congrats, and all the best!

Check with your dj... They may have access to some. I know ours did.

I'm one of those 'oh really, impossible' people that like to show off. Here is one where I'm not so sure I think it was done. Sure you aren't confusing with Smashing Pumpkins cover? (I mean, here is a link on a pearl jam site talkinga bout the song and which cover and who did it.. and no mention of Pearl Jam).

I looked through every album, ton of live shows and a ton of bootlegs for Pearl Jam and nada

Only thing I could find making me think it exists was google which mentioned some lyrics from a 1995 live version (I checked 4 different live shows from '95 and nada).

So agree its impossible, but maybe for the wrong reasons!
