Not necessarily Tim, Rotary park and the Mill pond has always been a Firework location for Milton. Matt |

Jeanette, we'll be there with our rainboots on!! I remember you did it last year, but we'd already put the kiddies to bed. This year they'll get to stay up. Rona |

I am used to the fireworks at the beaches but that's no longer walking distance from home now that I am in Hawthorne Villiage. Where are the fairgrounds, Rotary Park and Mill Pond from Hawthorne Villiage? |

To answer Qwerty The Fairgrounds is located in the old part of town, best way to get there is take Derry west to Commercial Street (opposite the Sports Centre) and follow the Fairground signs turn left at Heslop Road and turn right onto Thomas Street (opposite J.M. Denyes School). The only sponsored Fireworks display in Milton starts at 10 pm. on Saturday July 1st at the Fairgrounds infield put on by the volunteer Canada Day committee who will be advertising in the Champion and Compass in June. The Mill Pond and Rotary Park are located on Martin St. and Mill St. just north of Downtown along Main Street. (check out milton.ca for park maps) also the Leisure Services Guide has maps of all the Town parks and walking trails. Hope this helps. |

Colin b. Thanks for all the information. I don't know about all the others but being new in the neighbourhood gives me a feeling that I am lost a lot of times. I'm getting better but I didn't know where Ontario St or Main St was for the longest time. Jeanette Thanks for the fireworks show. I wanted to show my boys what fireworks were and planning to take them to a giant display but yours was more than enough. One of my boys was terrified with the bang and we had to leave but thanks for the show. |

We will try to come out again and maybe this year the kids will not be afraid and we can enjoy your work. |

Glad to see everyone is excited about having fireworks on the Victoria Day weekend. Just remember to be careful as there are accidents every year and the Milton Fire Department is warning parents to keep children away from large firework displays. Also check Tuesdays and Fridays Champion for Mohawk Raceway's fireworks display at the racetrack this weekend as well. ps. the Canada Day and Milton 150th Anniversary Committee is planning a very special July 1st event as well. Colin Best Local & Regional Councillor Wards 2 & 4. |
