| Post subject: | Toy Drive and Food Bank |
Hey guys, I need help finding the proper toy drive that caters to kids within all GTA. I am setting the office up with this and the food bank and lucky me, managed to get the owner to match what the colllected items are worth in cash and donate to SickKids. All I seem to find for Toy Drives are old and catering to Scarborough only. Any idea? Also, is this the right Food Bank or should it be the Canada food bank that caters by province. http://www.dailybread.ca/home/index.cfm VS http://foodbankscanada.ca/main.cfm Thanks in advance |

For a toy drive you could try the CP24 Christmas Wish |

Doesn't the police department do a toy drive every year. I am sure that one stays local and there is a food bank in Milton. |

Check out pictures from last years Troy's Toy Drive. I think roughly $30,000 in toys and donations was raised. Breakfast Television was there along with Walter Gretzky, Tiger Jeet Singh, Tiger Ali Singh and a number of others. http://troysdiner.com/photo-gallery/tro ... rive-2009/ Proceeds went to the Salvation Army, Sick Kids Hospital and Halton Womens place. The same will be for this year as well. This years event will be held at Troy's Diner Best Western on December 20th. You will be able to drop off any unwrapped toy at that time or you can make donations made payable to "Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation c/o Troy's Toy Drive. I'll get the flyer posted on my website as soon as possible. Lets help make a childs Christmas better and bring a smile to their face. |

Mike is correct -- Troy's Toy Drive donated around $30K in toys to Halton Women's Place, The Salvation Army and Sick Kids last year. I would encourage everyone to donate either financially (before December 18th because the shoppping spree is on the 19th) or as Mike said, drop off brand new toys on the morning of Dec. 20th at the Best Western location. Also, Breakfast Television will be on hand covering the event again this year. We have all of the information posted at our site as of this morning (including a clip from last year's event): http://miltonsearch.com/2010/11/29/3rd- ... toy-drive/ Please spread the word! |

You can also drop off donations at the Milton Mall beginning November 20th. Non-perishable food items for the Milton Food Bank can go to the donation station in front of The Source. New, unwrapped toys for the Tots For Tots program can be left at the fenced in area in front of Brancier Jewellers. New mittens, hats and scarves can go on the Mitten Tree located in front of Siblings and will be donated to Halton Women's Place. |
