Yes, I would LOVE for there to be squash courts in Milton. I was actually thinking the other day that I might try to find someone to play with at one of the public courts in Oakville or Milton. It would have to be after work though.

I'd love to get out from time to time!
I was also barely average but now stink I'm sure. If you need somebody to clean the floor with, let me know when you plan on going!

Hey Zee

I don't play squash but I'm trying to get back into playing hockey at a decent level after a couple year hiatus. Just wanted to wish you all the best, don't get discouraged (I know I was the first time I hit the ice) and have fun. Before you know it you'll catch your groove and you'll be a squash champ.

If you've followed these boards over the years, you'll know that the question of local squash courts has come up more than a few times.

We should absolutely have courts of our own in town. Even if just 2 or 3 of them at the Leisure Centre. I know the rental cost of the courts will not offset the cost of building them, but I know for sure you'd have to reserve court time days in advance.

People want things to do in town! Zee, Mike, Rick et all... You guys are in charge now, please build us some courts!

To hijack the thread.

I can play on weekends, Saturday morning is best but Sunday afternoon also works. My level is probably around Z's. I used to play at an intermediate level, but have not played for years. My serve in particular is horrible.

Zee I sent you an email about setting up a match.
To make this more interesting and fun would anyone
Consider playing in a ladder bracket? It's almost like an
On going tournament and people challenge eachother
And setup there own matches. If enough people
can commit to playing at least once a month , I
could organize rankings.

The current town policy is to *not* build *any* squash courts and build lots of tennis courts. We actually have a tennis masterplan and an explicit tennis strategy.

I have nothing against tennis (and I plan to start playing once tennis courts behind my house are done) ... and I cannot guarentee that we in fact will have a squash court here ... but I do want this policy changed. When the town plans a recreational facility, it needs to guage demand to determine the best mix of facilities instead of creating a bias up front.

That said, the next community centre isn't planned for a couple of years, so meanwhile we'll have to rely on municipal courts in Oakville or Mississauga.

I can play during work hours, my evenings are completely booked. If you can play then please let me know. I really want to start.

That policy is as dumbass as it gets. I wonder if anybody who actually came up with that policy has stuck their head out a window lately. We live in Canada so tennis is a 6/7 month sport here unless you are ready to spend TONS on indoor courts. Squash can be played in our climate an amazing 12 months of the year. Shouldn't fitness and health be a full time concern? Not to mention, I would have to play about 4 hours of tennis to get the same workout as 45 mins of squash. We should start a group/petition to have a couple of courts built at the rec center.

There is a private squash court in Milton. It is located in the plaza with the Remax office off of Ontario and Pine. The door backs onto the back parking lot of M&M Meats, Sally Ann and the variety store.

I will ask DH how he got a key and how much it was.

Someone posted on here a couple of months ago that the owner was closing it. Does your husband still belong?
