Thanks Steve

This is the property on the east side of James Snow parkway just north of the #401 under the hydro lines opposite the Walmart store which the Town went to the OMB to make some modifications in the plan.

Slightly misleading text as Halton Hills is not one of the fastest growing municipalities. This site is only to take advantage of Milton's growth.

Heres the link to Tanger Outlet in case anyone doesn't know which brands there could be:

http://www.tangeroutlet.com/

I actually hope they put another movie theatre in (to compete with Galaxy) but I am doubtful as I never heard of any of those names in Canada

Looks like Milton missed the boat.

Checked around the net, seems like a great outlet.

I would still be going to the US outlets. No matter which outlets come in Canada there is no way they can match the US prices!

Yeah, I'm just not a fan of Halton Hills building the stores right on our doorstep so far away from their own town. We should find some way to retaliate. I'm thinking a garbage or sewage plant right on their border away from our residents.

I went to the Tanger outlet in the Wisonsin Dells last year and it was impressive. The prices were really good but I doubt they will be that good here.

How about Costco??, the town of Milton turn them down, watch Halton Hills building one near the boarder line.

There are lots of people who don't drive/shop, to U.S. (just think about saving the environment ) they will sure shop in this new plaza. I will.

Hi Buka

Sorry but this Costco myth still continues.
How can you turn something down when they NEVER APPLIED!
This rumour is right up there with the fairground sales (multiple times) and the Mill pond monster.

You can check through www.milton.ca and talk with the Town planning staff (which I have) there has been no applications by this company anywhere in the Milton area including Halton Hills.

Check out the staff report on the Halton Hills site we are talking about.

http://www.milton.ca/execserv/agendas20 ... Appeal.pdf

The original proposed anchor tenant was Lowes which cancelled their expansion plans two years ago due to the recession.

Costco somehow seems to get mixed up with the new High school at Louis St. Laurent Blvd and 4th line (which I have heard more than once) and the Coscorp Homes development.

The Town already has approved proposals for over 1 MILLION SQUARE FEET (think of 22 soccer fields) of retail space under the Town retail study in a number of locations plus a big box retail area approved in the new official plan on 60 acres of land at the north-west corner of Highway #25 and #401.

Will be posting more on this issue as staff are preparing the new Zoning by-laws for public meetings later this spring to conform with the new Town and Regional official plans which were approved last year.

I think part of the problem is Costco is phoning local businesses saything that they are thinking of coming to Milton and asking if the companies would like to offer a company membership.
My husband who is branch manager at a local company got this call from them last year.
