Drink lots of water and make sure you're rinsing your mouth often.

It'll pass; just give it time.

I've had all four removed a few years back too... its not fun recovering from it.

If you haven't tried it already, I'd suggest icing your jaw- 20 mins on, 20 mins off. Might help with some of the pain. I had all 4 out and the meds I had made me sick, so was on standard Advil only, so I know the feeling.

which dentist did you go to?

Having talked to many folks usually dentist make a case for taking out all the wisdom teeth even though not all of them are impacted, sometimes pulling it out even though none of it may be needed.

Exact reason I don't want to get mine pulled especially all four of them. I have 1 that is impacted. I was considering just doing two at a time to lessen the stress - 4 days is a long time to be out of it.

Yeah pulling wisdom teeth may just be a cash grab. Do we really need to remove them?

If all 4 need to come out eventually, it's better to get it over with once- the pain sucks, but it won't be a lot better to just do two as opposed to all of them. It would just be having the same or similar pain twice, and likely being out for more time in the long run.

If you get sick, especially a fever, I'd say go to emerg and get some antibiotics administered. That would be a sign of a serious infection.

Make sure to gargle with warm salt water.

If they're all straight then you can leave them (mine are all in straight, just went over this with my dentist) the only reason to remove them is because they are so far back, it's hard to get them really clean and they usually end up getting pulled anyway because of decay.

Yeah, I'm not a dentist but I don't think that's right. It's because they start to crowd your other teeth and will start pushing them crooked.


It depends on your mouth.. with me, I have a lot of room and my wisdom all came in straight and have not effected my other teeth. I had to have a root canal on one though because of decay (that sounds so gross!)

When I had my 4 taken out, my face swelled up so much I couldn’t put a t-shirt on for 4 days. I looked like a comic book character.

But I didn’t care, because my dentist gave me a prescription for 100% Colombian codeine. It was the best week of my life. Not kidding.

I had impacted wisdom teeth.

I had substantially more pain before the surgery, rather than after. If anyone has seen the movie "Pi", that is what I felt like doing to my jaw before the surgery.

I had all 4 removed at once. I had the laughing gas... it was kinda cool.
